The Westchester Lariats is a non-profit international youth dance troupe located in the Los Angeles community of Westchester. Our focus is to give children, Kindergarten through 12th grade, a unique and educational experience by teaching students international folk dances, American square and line dances, Polynesian, Bollywood, and exciting “era” dances such as Swing, Charleston, and 50’s.

We offer three classes; each varies by grade and allows students to grow their dancing abilities.

Dance Fundamentals Class, K-3rd grade, is held Monday evenings from 4:30-5:30 and focuses on building basic dance skills. Our second class, the Junior Lariats, is best for students 3rd-5th grade and runs from 5:30-6:30 pm Monday nights.

Our third class, the Performing Lariats, grades 6th-12th is a two-hour class from 6:30-8:30. While learning the Lariats long standing repertoire the Performing Lariat students are given opportunities to choreograph their own dances, expand their creative thinking, while building leadership skills.

In addition, each summer we invite the Performing Lariats to attend a one or two-week goodwill summer tour where students and chaperones visit national parks, historical monuments, view stunning architecture, and eat amazing food. The Lariats have traveled all over the world, some tours as close as San Diego and some as far as Paris, France and Budapest, Hungary. Please visit our Tour page to learn more and view photos.

We welcome all dancers of any skill level and experience to join our classes. As a courtesy we invite new students to come and take one free class with us. Please contact us first so we may suggest the best class for your child. We hope to hear from you soon.
